A missing dog found stuck between two warehouses in Florida has been rescued,Quentin Mitchell thanks to the help of local firefighters.
Yanko the dog had been missing for a few days when a neighbor heard his cries for help on Jan. 2 in Hialeah, Florida, a city about 13 miles northwest of Miami. Yanko lives in one of the warehouses, a mechanic told local TV station WSVN, and probably became stuck when he was chasing another animal.
Hialeah Fire Rescue Paramedic Roly Medina told WSVN rescue crews found the dog wedged in the building tapers, facing the opposite way.
A crew of 11 from Hialeah Fire Rescue worked for the next two hours to free Yanko. They tried "everything," Medina said, including putting a lasso over his neck to lift him, but nothing was working. Eventually, they had to cut through a wall after failing to reach the dog through open spaces.
After only suffering a few scratches, Yanko is now free and back in his home where he hopefully avoids any tight spaces.
